Stories from the Road

Every Hitchhike
Is a Story.

The rides are unpredictable. The connections are unforgettable. Here's how it started.

📖

The Origin Story

October 2024. Tokyo → Osaka.

45 minutes at the wrong spot. Zero rides. I moved 500 meters to the McDonald's at the Tomei Expressway entrance. Ten minutes later, a car stopped.

Six hours of conversation followed. A Japanese couple changed their route to drive me all the way to Osaka. They bought me lunch. We exchanged stories about our families, our countries, our lives.

That ride taught me something: timing and location aren't just logistics. They're the difference between standing alone and finding connection.

That one ride became this entire platform. Not because I wanted to build an app — but because I wanted others to find what I found at that McDonald's parking lot.

Chapter One

When

October 2024. Tokyo. 12 PM, wrong spot: 45 minutes of invisibility.

1 PM, right spot: McDonald's at the highway entrance. Ten minutes later, a car pulled over.

Timing intelligence isn't luck. It's reading the rhythm of a place.

📍

Chapter Two

Where

The McDonald's revelation: Familiar places create magic. Drivers are in transition mode. Their minds are open.

The right where isn't scenic. It's strategic.

🎯

Chapter Three

How

We don't make hitchhiking safe. We make you capable.

👁️
Discernment
Read the moment. Trust your instincts.
🤲
Presence
Openness invites openness.
🔄
Flexibility
Plans will change. That's the magic.

Real Hitchhiking

Pouce teaches you where to stand and when. Then we disappear.

🛡️

Smart Hitchhiking

Capability over caution. Awareness over anxiety.

👁️ Trust Your Instincts

If something feels off, it probably is. Wait for the next ride.

📍 Share Your Journey

🚗 You Choose The Ride

Look at the car. Look at the driver. Feel the energy.

📱 Stay Connected

Keep your phone charged. Know emergency numbers.

🇯🇵

Share your live location with someone throughout your journey

Families and couples in cars are often the most comfortable rides

Founder, Pouce & Japan Stillness

"I stood at the wrong spot for 45 minutes. Then I moved 500 meters and waited 10 minutes. Everything changed."

Tokyo → Osaka, October 2024

🍁 The Origin

Pouce was born from a single afternoon on a Tokyo roadside. October 2024. I wanted to hitchhike to Osaka but had no idea where to start.

So I learned the hard way. Wrong spot: 45 minutes of invisibility near Yoga station. Then I walked 500 meters to a McDonald's right before the Tomei Expressway entrance. Ten minutes later, a couple pulled over.

🎯 The Insight

That experience taught me something no guidebook ever could: timing intelligence matters more than luck.

🌱 The Philosophy

Pouce is part of Japan Stillness—a different way to experience Japan. We believe the best travel moments can't be manufactured by algorithms.
